The Italy factory produced 11 (5.5”) figures, plus both Giants (Tytus and Megator). Some of my favorite Spain figures are not as well known, yet truly amazing, such as the Fisto with lilac Katana and Mosquitor with blue gun. Perhaps the most well known are the Laser Power He-Man and Laser Light Skeletor figures (only produced in Spain and Italy towards the end of the line). Standouts of the France line include the 7 soft boot figures (He-Man, Fisto, Man-at-Arms, Jitsu, Triklops, Thunderpunch He-Man, and Battle Armor He-Man), as well as big arm Fisto with dark katana and Stinkor with blue He-Man mold shield.Ĭongost for the Spain line produced a whopping 67 figures! While Spain figures tend to more or less resemble their American release counterparts, they have a number of important standouts. The figures tend to be colorful and beautiful, albeit fragile. They also released a number of Mini-Comics that were never published by any other COO!įrance produced 37 figures for their “Les Maitres De L'Univers” line. Estrela Mini-Comics were “redrawn” and re-edited to better match the figures they released. Estrela curiously have the rarest of all the Mini-Comics. The most notable figures from this line include Mer-Man (with orange armor!), Prince Adam (with nail-like belt buckle) and Beast Man (with phosphorescent orange tones). This short, but small line is characterized by vibrant colors and beautiful paint apps. You will find for example, He-man having well over 15 variations! Top Toys also produced perhaps the most notorious and sought after variant in the world, the Kobra Khan Camuflado (Khamo Khan)! A few other notable variants include Buzz-Off with dark arms, long hair Moss Man, Christmas-colored Modulok, and muscular leg reedition Mer-Man.Įstrela in Brazil produced 18 figures for the Masters line. This has led to TT figures being highly collectable and sought after for their differences. Due to quality control, production and mold issues they appear to have made the largest amount of variants of any other COO. Top Toys in Argentina produced a total of 40 figures for the Masters of the Universe vintage line. Notable variants include Fisto with dark katana, Clawful with orange mace, Webstor with big head, and Prince Adam with big "Santa Claus" belt buckle. A total of 17 different mini-comic titles were produced. The Boxes contained the figure, bagged accessories, and a mini-comic in spanish marked LOS AMOS. A total of 28 figures were produced over the span of 3 years, between 1984-1986, and were packaged in boxes as opposed to blisters. Masters of the Universe was produced in Mexico City for the Mexico market by the company Aurimat, under the title “Los Amos del Universo”. Oddly, Mabamex also produced (in extremely limited numbers) the Giant Tytus, only sold in the Euro market. Notable variants in this line include the Dark Face Grizzlor, Black Belt Leech, as well as the 3 motion picture figures (Saurod, Gwildor, and Blade). These figures were produced for sale in the USA not to be confused with the Aurimat figures that were for the Mexico market. Mabamex, in Tijuana, Mexico, produced a total of 20 (5.5”) figures for the Masters of the Universe line. Interestingly enough, a great deal of the accessories and cardbacks made for the Mabamex figures were made in the USA. A fairly common Battle Armor Skeletor, and an extremely rare USA marked He-Man. All 29 figures were produced for the American market, but some had variants that were only for Euro Release (such as the Big Feet Skeletor). A number of them are highly sought after wave 6 figures such as the fan favorite Scareglow, Ninjor and Sorceress. Hong Kong (and China) produced a total of 29 figures.
Special Edition He-Man (aka Wonderbread).Notable variants include Blue Beard Stratos, Green Belt Mer-Man, Peach Cheeks Skeletor, Red Dot Man-at-Arms and the almost mythical Green Eye Teela. A total of 21 figures were SOLD, but the final count is 22 since it includes the Special Edition He-Man (aka Wonderbread) that was a promotional giveaway. Taiwan produced the very first Masters of the Universe releases, such as the original 8-back figures (He-Man, Skeletor, Mer-Man, Beastman, Stratos, Teela, Man-at-Arms and Zodac). Notable variants in this COO (Country of Origin) include He-Man (both hard and soft head), Faker hard head (both small and big feet), and the Euro Prince Adam (both hard and soft head). Malaysia figures tend to be characterized by high quality mold and paint apps and include many of the finals wave 5 + 6 releases. The majority were readily available for sale in the USA, with Prince Adam and Terror Claws Skeletor as the notable exceptions. Masters of the Universe was produced in Malaysia for both the American and International market. List compiled by Ruben Nuñez using James Reid’s variant country checklist malaysia
